The former President of India Pranab Mukherjee is said to be on ventilator support.

On the 11th of August, Mr. Mukherjee’s health condition was said to be serious, following which he was put on ventilator support.

On the 10th of August, the Ex President of India tetsed positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

He was then admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.

After being admitted, amid COVID-19, he was treated for a brain clot and underwent a brain surgery.

According to the hospital, Mr. Mukherjee had a brain clot. The hospital said, “Post surgery he continues to remain critical on ventilator support.”

Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, took to Twitter and wished for his speedy recovery.

Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India ,on the evening of the 10th of August, visited Mr. Mukherjee.

After his visit, Rajnath Singh tweeted, “Visited the Army Hospital (R&R) in New Delhi and met the doctors to enquire about the health of former President Shri Pranab Mukherjee Ji. I pray for his well being and speedy recovery.”

Besides President Ram Nath Kovind and Defence Minister of India, Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and other leaders also wished for Pranab Mukherjee’s speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, a multidisciplinary team of doctors is constantly monitoring the health of the former president.
