Sandesh2Soldiers

As a part of a nationwide campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, people from all over India are now sending messages of support and wishes for Diwali to the brave soldiers of this country. #Sanesh2Soldiers is a trending hashtag through which actors, sportspersons, celebrities and even the aam admi can show some love to the valiant souls who guard our borders

This campaign was started almost a week ago, saw over 16,500 messages being sent to the soldiers in the first couple of days itself. Citizens can send in their messages to the Indian Army, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), through the NaMo app, mygov.in website, the All India Radio and/or the Doordarshan. The campaign was started by Narendra Modi so that people can show their solidarity towards the jawans keeping in mind the tensions at the borders.

Sandesh to Soliders

“Prime Minister spent Diwali of 2014 with the people of Jammu and Kashmir after the devastating floods there and 2015 with soldiers posted at the world’s highest battlefield of Siachen. This year too he wanted to mark Diwali for people who may not be able to join their families for this festival,” said a source in the Prime Minister’s Office. MyGov is expected to release selected posts through its social media handles, while Doordarshan and All India Radio will broadcast some of the messages through their transmissions. Mr. Modi will also read out few of them in his Mann ki Baat on October 30th.

The outreach is targeted to reach atleast 10 crore people with 10 lakh of them already being engaged in the campaign. It is a great pleasure to see such kind of initiatives being taken by Modi for the bigger and better cause and mobilizing people across the country to celebrate Diwali in a meaningful way.
