With the firm decision of not entering politics in future, superstar Rajinikanth decided to dissolve Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM.)
On the 12th of July, Mr. Rajinikanth took to Twitter and announced to dissolve the Rajini People’s forum the RMM. He posted a letter on his official Twitter handle, after conducting a meeting with the members of the RRM forum.
However, the RMM would act as Rajinikanth fans welfare committee and not as a political party. The new welfare committee would have the same members working for the people in Tamil Nadu.
In the tweet, Mr. Rajinikanth also mentioned that due to his trips and work commitments, he is unable to keep in touch with his fans and RMM members. He also said, after some relaxation from his work schedule, he would meet the RMM members and would discuss the future course of action of the RMM as a welfare committee.

Initially Mr. Rajinikanth was scheduled to launch his political party and join politics in Tamil Nadu. He was about to launch his party officially in January 2021.
However, on the 30th of December 2020, the actor announced to quit politics and withdrew his decision to launch the RMM as his political party. He took the decision citing his health conditions based on his doctor’s advice.
Now, with the decision to dissolve the RMM, there is no possibility of Rajinikanth entering the Tamil Nadu politics any time soon.
