2. Kolli Hills: Kolli Hills is located in central Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district on the east coast of South India. The Kolli Hills is a long 46.7 km stretch with 70 continuous hairpin bends that lead you to Kolli Malai or better known as ‘the mountain of death.’ The 70 hairpin bends are a dream come true for adrenaline junkies but one wrong swerve can give you one way ticket to death. There are also ancient stories of a maiden that waits on these steep turns charming people with her beauty just to eventually kill them.
3. Kishtwar Kailash Road: One of the world’s most dangerous roads that you should avoid taking if you aren’t a pro. The scary mountain trail is a 234 km stretch in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The road is narrow and also windy with no guard rail for 100 miles. The road is made of stones, gravel, and sand making it hard to ride on. It also is a narrow path with rocks hanging down obstructing your view of oncoming traffic.
4. Roopkund: Roopkund lake is located in Uttarakhand in the Indian Himalayas. The lake is frozen most of the time but when it melts it reveals the bones of nearly 300 people. Scientists have dated the bodies back to the 9th century. The lake may not seem that dangerous but the way to the lake can get tricky. The Roopkund is located at 16,000 feet above sea level and surrounded by rocky glaciers. The lake has been renamed as Skeleton Lake.
5. Thar Desert: The 17th largest desert in the world is spread out among four states in India and two in Pakistan. The dessert is definitely beautiful to see but the dry condition is a challenge to survive even if you are fully equipped with food and water. The weather is not the only problem the dessert is full of Saw Scaled Vipers, Sand Boas and Black Cobras.
6. Kailash Mansarovar Pilgrimage: The Kailash Mansarovar Pilgrimage is sacred to Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. To reach the holy place worshipers have to climb 18,000 feet. The trek is strenuous and can be very dangerous. The river Kali is one of the problems as the force in certain patches of the river is so harsh that if one falls in, the body would get cut into pieces and never would be recovered.
7. Pamban Bridge: The 100 year old sea bridge is the most dangerous in India. Located in Tamil Nadu connecting Rameshwaram to continental India. The bridge is sturdy and has survived a massive cyclone but traveling on the bridge on a windy day can be a task. The bridge takes 12 people to manually pull levers, to allow ships to travel from below.
8. Khardungla: The world’s highest motorable road is the Khardungla, is famous among a number of bikers. It is located in Ladakh with long spinning roads and an extremely high altitude. The oxygen level at the pass is very low making it extremely difficult for amateurs to endure.
