In a shocking incident, 40 students from Kasturba Gandhi School were hospitalized in Etah in Uttar Pradesh. The students suffered food poisoning after eating the mid day meal at school.
Etah District Magistrate Amit Kishore ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. This has not been the first time students fell ill after consuming a mid day meal.
In December last year, 28 students were taken to the hospital after eating Khichdi at a school in Mumbai. Many students have complained of lizards and snakes in their mid day meals. The mid day meals is a scheme by the Government to provide food to children in Government schools.
