Uttar Pradesh – Family Of Six Burnt Alive In Meerut

On the 14th of January, a family of six members were burnt alive in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) 

A 40 year old woman along with her 5 children were set on fire while they were sleeping. 

All the victims suffered serious injuries and one of them who is said to be in critical condition has been shifted to Delhi for treatment.

According to sources, the incident took place during late night of the 14th of January at Zahidpur village in Kharkhoda region of Meerut.

A group of unidentified miscreants set their house on fire after pouring petrol and lit matchstick.

The woman identified as Rahmeen lived with her 5 kids after her husband abandoned her eight years ago. Rahmeen used to work as a labourer for survival. 

Manish Bisht, the Station in charge of Kharkhoda police station, said, “The family says it is clueless about who could possibly be behind the act.  They do not seem to have any enmity with anyone. We will talk to the woman once her condition stabilizes.”

Fatima, a distant relative of the woman, said, “Rahmeen is the only earning member in the family and was mostly busy with her children when she was not working. There was no enmity with anyone and we do not know why this happened.”

Meerut Police registered a police complaint and launched an investigation regarding the same.
