West Bengal Class 12th Results Declared, Overall Pass Percentage Is 90.13%

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced class 12th results on the 17th of July. 

This year, approximately 90.13 % of students passed the 12th boards. 

A total of 7,75,364 students registered for the WBCHSE exams, of the total registered 7,61,583 students appeared and 6,80,057 passed. 

This year boys’ overall pass percentage is 0.44% more than girls.  Approximately 90% girls passed, whereas 90.44 % boys passed in the 2020 boards exams. 

This year of the total 7,61,583 students, 84,746 students have scored over 80% marks and nearly 30,220 have scored over 90%. 

Result Mark sheets would be distributed by respective schools by the 31st of July. 

The topper in the State has scored 499 out of 500 and scored 99.80%.

Mohua Das, the President of the WBCHSE, said, “As there is no merit list, we cannot announce the names of rank holders.  However our data shows that 99.80 (499 out of 500 marks) is the highest marks received by the topper.”

Nearly 98.83% of students have passed in the science stream.  In commerce 92.22% have passed, and in the arts stream 88.74% have passed.

This year due to the pandemic crisis, the State Government had to cancel a few papers.

The results were evaluated on the basis of internal assessment and initial subjects examinations.
