Virender Sehwag has been vocal about his support for social issues. In the recent attack on CRPF jawans in Kashmir on April 9, over 80 jawans were injured in the attack by protesters and stone pelters. Another Indian cricketer, Gautam Ghambir voiced his angst about the attack on these jawans along with Sehwag and took to twitter to opinion his views.

The cricketers reacted to the video wherein angry mob was a chasing Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and attacked him while on his way home from the polling booth. The cricketer slammed the Kashmiri youth and shared his opinion about the present issue in J and K.
The Tweet by Virender Sehwag:

Gambhir went ahead and said that for every slap on an Indian Jawan they should kill at least 100 Jihadis.

The CRPF, who were still carrying their weapons, showed restraint and took no action on the angry mob who were shouting slogans on the streets. The video, tweeted by Sehwag, shows the youth slapping and kicking a jawan in an attempt to provoke him to using his weapon, but to no avail.

Over a period of time, violence has increased in Kashmir with jawans being attacked and killed by Jihadis with the help of locals. The government has addressed the Pakistani government in regard to this issue. But the constant ceasefire violations and no action by Islamabad suggests otherwise.
