On the 24th of January, Monday, India’s opening batter Ms. Smriti Mandhana has been named as the winner of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Cricketer of 2021.
Ms. Smriti Mandhana won the title for her performance in two One Day International (ODI) matches. In the South Africa v/s India women’s match, although India won just two of the eight matches, Ms. Mandhana played a major role in both of the wins. She alone made 80 not out as India chased down 158 in the second One Day International (ODI) match. In another match against Australia, her innings came to an end at 127 runs, after putting India in a strong position. The match ended in a draw, and Mandhana was declared the Player of the Match.
Mandhana made India’s first ever pink ball Test even more memorable by smashing her maiden century in the longest format. In her cricketer Carter, the 25 year old scored 885 runs in 22 international games, with an impressive average of 38.86. In addition, Mandhana’s tally includes one century (100 runs) and five half centuries (50 runs) as well.

Notably, Ms. Smriti Mandhana has also won the International Cricket Council Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2018. Again, she won the title in 2021.
