IPL 2021 Resumes With CSK V/S MI Match, CSK Wins Against Champion Team With 20 Runs

On the 19th of September, the first match of the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was held between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK.)

After winning the toss, CSK opted for batting and won the match against MI. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni CSK team won with 20 runs, as it scored 156 runs with 6 wickets in 20 overs. On the other hand, MI scored 136 runs with 8 wickets in 20 overs.

The IPL match which was called off due to the players being tested for the Wuhan virus, resumed from the 19th of September. The tournament was suspended on the 4th of May, due to the rising number of cases. Now, the remaining 31 matches would be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah stadium in the coming days.

The first match was held at Dubai International Stadium, the United Arab Emirates (UAE.)

In yesterday’s match which started at 7:30 P.M., after the victory of CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad was announced as the Man of the Match. He scored 88 runs in 58 balls.

The next match is scheduled between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB.)

Unlike last time, limited seats have been opened for fans to come and enjoy the matches at stadiums. However, all the fans visiting the stadium to see the match need to follow all the COVID-19 protocols as per the UAE Government.

The 14th edition of the IPL 2021 which resumed again on the 19th of September, would continue till the 15th of October.

A total of 8 IPL teams are a part of the IPL 2021. The 8 teams are Mumbai Indians (MI,) RCB, Chennai Super Kings (CSK,) Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH,) Rajasthan Royals (RR,) Punjab Kings XI, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC.)
