The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB,) on the 17th of August, announced Russell Domingo as the Head Coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Team. The tenure of Russell will end in 2021.
Russell Domingo, the former Coach of the South African Cricket Team, replaced Steve Rhodes, whose tenure ended in 2019.
Nazmul Hasan, the President of the BCB, said, “We have decided to pick Russell as he will be available. There were other candidates but we wanted someone who could be available for us and certainly, he has got the experience.”
Russell expressed his happiness and said, “I look forward to continuing the ongoing development of current players whilst also looking towards the future and developing some new bright stars from within the talent pool of Bangladesh cricket.”
Domingo will reach Dhaka on the 21st of August and will take over as the Coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Team.
Russell will start his responsibilities as the Coach of the Bangladesh Cricket Team with a one-off Test match against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to start from the 5th of September, followed by the T20 International (T20) Tri Series.
