Sachin Tendulkar, an iconic cricketer of the Indian Cricket Team, on the 18th of July, was inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame.

Sachin Tendulkar was inducted along with Allan Donald, a pace bowler of the South African team, as well as Cathryn Fitzpatrick, a two time World Cup winner of the Australian Team.

Sachin was inducted immediately after he became eligible for the induction, which requires a player to have played his last international match at least 5 years back. Sachin Tendulkar retired in November 2013.

Speaking on the occasion, Tendulkar said, “It’s a huge honour for me.” He further spoke about the contribution of cricketers and said, he is happy he did his part.

Sachin Tendulkar is the 6th Indian player to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. The five cricketers who were previously inducted into ICC Hall of Fame are Bishan Singh Bedi (2009,) Kapil Dev (2009,) Sunil Gavaskar (2009,) Anil Kumble (2015) and Rahul Dravid (2018.)

Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the other cricketers who made it to the ICC Hall of Fame.
