AIMIM Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi Lashes Out At TRS Leaders

Akbaruddin Owaisi, a senior leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) on the 20th of January, addressed a public gathering in Tandur, Telangana.

During his campaign for the Municipal elections in Tandur, Akbaruddin Owaisi lashed out at the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

He slammed the TRS for referring to the AIMIM as an ‘Old City party.’

Talsani Srinivas, one of the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the TRS, addressed a public rally for the Municipal elections and claimed the AIMIM is an Old City party.

Hurt by Talsani Srinivas’s statement, Akbaruddin said, “Some leaders of the TRS are saying that majlis is an Old City party. Let me ask TRS supporters, doesn’t AIMIM have MLAs in Maharashtra and Bihar? We have an MP in Maharashtra as well. Does TRS have an MLA outside Telangana? There are Telugu speaking people in Andhra.  Can the TRS go and win seats from there?”

The campaigns for the Municipal elections ended on the evening of the 20th of January.

The Telangana Municipal elections are scheduled to be held on the 22nd of January.

The major parties contesting the forthcoming Municipal elections in the State are the TRS, the Indian National Congress (INC,) the AIMIM and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

The results of the Municipal elections would be announced on the 25th of January.

Stay tuned for further updates.
