The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 17th of July, asked the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to extend the Telangana Assembly session.

N. Ramachandra Rao, a BJP Member of the Legislative Council (MLC,) addressed Party activists at the State office and said, “The TRS wants the opposition to not speak. They have not conducted the session after the interim budget. Now, two days will not be enough.”

Rao also said, the TRS is conducting the session for two days. Instead of two days, the Government should have extended the session for at least a week, so that public issues can be discussed. He further raised a question and said, “There was no session after the budget session and government is stating that it would hold Assembly session only for two days. Why is the government afraid to extend the session?”

During the meeting with the MLCs and BJP members, the Party also inducted some of the opposition leaders into the Party.

Approximately 50 leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS,) on the 17th of July, joined the BJP in the presence of G. Premender Reddy, V. Sudhakar Sharma, Y. Geeta Murthy, N. Gautam Rao, G. Subhash Chanderji and K. Anthony Reddy.

The Telangana Assembly session is scheduled to begin at 11:00 A.M., on the 18th of July.
