The Union Budget 2023-2024 have left the Telangana Government on a disappointed note.
Soon after the Budget session tabled by Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Members of Parliament (MPs) expressed disappointment. The Telangana MPs in the Parliament slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government for not allocating any funds to the Telugu State of Telangana.
After the Union Budget Session, Mr. Keshav Rao, the BRS MP, addressed the media and said, there is nothing new in the budget presented by the Centre. He said that the finance minister not even once uttered the name of Telangana in her budget speech.
Furthermore, Mr. Keshav Rao also said that the Centre had given allocation to both Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka but not any funds for Telangana. He added that ythe BJP led Centre keeping in elections in mind has kept huge allocations for the country for their political mileage, neglecting the Telugu State of Telangana.
Similarly, MP Nama Nageswara Rao also slammed the BJP Government for ignoring Telangana in the budget allocation. He said that the Centre ignored all the pleas by the K. Chandrashekar Rao led BRS Government over funds. Notably, the BRS Government demanded funds for the Kaleshwaram project and other development projects in Telangana. He said that the budget is heard by all the people of the nation and Telangana was expecting allocation of funds to the State but it was so disappointing.
MP Nama Nageswara Rao also said that the Centre is now focussing on Sree Anna: Millets, Ragi, Johar etc as if no one has cultivated or consumed earlier in the country. He said that most of the budget was only running around bush and nothing else.
Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, did not yet respond to the budget allocation by the ruling BJP Central Government.
