G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Home Minister for State, said the Central Government would soon release disaster relief funds to Telangana.
Telangana witnessed heavy rain in between the 10th of October till 16th of October, claiming 53 lives and damage of worth Rs. 5,000 crores.
In regard to this, the Telangana Government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao requested the Central Government to release funds for rescue and repair operations in the rain affected State.
On the 26th of October, addressing the media, Mr. Kishan Reddy said, the recent torrential rains created chaos in the State and the Central team has already visited to take stock of the damage caused in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area in the recent floods.
Recently, a central team visited Telangana and toured the rain damaged areas.
The Central Government is likely to release funds under disaster relief soon.
However, details about the amount of fund is yet to be known.
