COVID-19 – KCR Decides To Pay Full Salaries To Medical And Police Department

K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 1st of April, decided to pay full salaries to all the medical workers and police officials.

Recently, like all other state governments, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government decided to cut 75 % of salaries of the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs,) Members of Parliament (MPs) and other officials.

The decision to cut the salary was taken in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus in Telangana.  The deducted salary amount would be donated to the Chief Minister relief fund for the COVID- 19, prevention in the State.

The salaries of the contractors and retired employees would also be deducted by 10%, but the only departments which would get full salary are the Police and the Medical departments.

Praising the significant efforts of the medical and the police departments to prevent outbreaks of the Novel Coronavirus, the State Government also decided to give incentives.

The medical department and the police department are working 24X7 to deal with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the State.  Telangana reported 127 positive cases, 107 active cases, 14 recovered and 6 deceased cases of COVID-19 till date.
