In Telangana, there were four more Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases reported, raising the total number of positive cases to 45.

The infected people are a doctor couple from Domalguda, Hyderabad, a Forty Nine year old male from Quthbullapur and a three year old child.  The couple had no travel history and not even were in contact with anyone who has COVID-19 illness.

The 49 year old man from Quthbullapur is said to be in isolation at the State run, Gandhi Hospital and undergoing treatment.  The three year old did travel from Saudi Arabia. The Telangana Health Ministry reported the 3 year old child as the youngest person infected with the COVID-19 in Hyderabad, till date.

With all these updates, Telangana has a total of 45 positive COVID-19 cases  .

G. Srinivas Rao, the Director of Public Health, said the doctor couple who were infected with COVID-19 have no clue from where they got the virus .  However, Mr.Rao is in contact with the couple and is trying to get clarity, how they were infected by the virus, when they did not travel nor did they meet anyone who was COVID-19 positive.  The couple reported they went to a shrine in Andhra Pradesh and it could be a case of community transmission. Since Telangana and Maharashtra are reporting several cases of COVID-19, where the infected person does not know from whom he was infected, it is still a question whether it should be considered as a community transmission– the 3rd Stage of the Coronavirus infection.

However, Luv Agarwal, the Joint Secretary to the Health Ministry, answered the query, if these cases should be considered as community transmission.  Mr. Agarwal said, one or two instances where the contacts are not traced or the positive tested patient cannot explain how they were infected, could not be considered as community transmission.  He further added, if a large number of people like more than 20 to 30 % are affected in such a manner, then it would be considered community transmission.

As of now, India is in Stage 2 of the Novel Coronavirus and if the numbers keep on increasing, the Country might enter the 3rd Stage.

India has a total of 724 positive cases with a total of 17 casualties due to the COVID-19.

Stay tuned for further updates about COVID-19.
