The Election Commission of India (ECI,) on the 5th of March, released the schedule for the Nizamabad local bodies by-election.
The ECI would issue an official notification for the by-election for the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) post, on the 12th of March. The position of the Nizamabad MLC fell vacant after the then Council Chairman, Swamy Goud disqualified Bhupati Reddy.
Bhupati Reddy, the former Nizamabad MLC was disqualified for switching his loyalties to the Indian National Congress (INC) before the 2018 Assembly elections of Telangana. Mr. Reddy was elected unanimously in 2015 as the Nizamabad MLC.

Nomination filing Deadline: the 19th of March
Scrutiny of Nominations: the 20th of March
Withdrawal of Nominations: the 223rd of March
Polling Date: the 7tth of April
Counting of votes: the 9th of April
