The Communist Party of India (Marxist,) (CPI [M],) suspended Parepally Sekhar Rao, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate from Huzurnagar Assembly by elections.
On the 7th of October, the CPI (M) issued a press release and announced the suspension of its Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate from the Party.
The suspension came after the Returning Officer (RO) of the Huzurnagar Assembly Constituency, rejected the nomination papers of Sekhar Rao on technical grounds.
According to sources, Sekhar was unable to submit the required documents on time due to which the RO dismissed him from the fray of nominees for the Huzurnagar bypoll.
T. Veerabhadram, the President of CPI(M) along with G. Nagaiah, the Central Committee Member D. Venkat, the State Executive Committee member and D.G. Narasimha Rao took the decision.
During a press conference, the Party members also expressed their desire to support Telangana Praja Party’s (TPP) MLA candidate Sambasiva Goud.
The CPI(M) also urged the Communist Party of India (CPI) to reconsider its decision of supporting the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the bypoll.
The Huzurnagar by election is scheduled to be held on the 21st of October and the result for the same will be announced on the 24th of October.
The major parties contesting the Huzurnagar Assembly bypoll are the TRS, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
