According to the Mercer’s Quality of Living Ranking for 2017, Hyderabad has emerged as the best city to live in and with the best quality of living, The City of pearls has been globally ranked at 144, which is a slip of five places from last year. Hyderabad is immediately followed by Pune and Bengaluru that are at 145 and 146th ranks. Other cities of India on the list are New Delhi at the 161st position, Kolkata at 160, Mumbai at 154 and Chennai at 151. 231 cities from all around the world have been taken into consideration for this list.
According to the Mercer Survey report, many things worked in favor of Hyderabad, including, “relatively lower crime rate, lesser air pollution and improved options for international and reputable English speaking schools.” This survey covers 230 cities around the globe every year to help the Multi National Companies and other organizations to make the payments to the employees fairly when sending them on international assignments.
Mercer a global human resourcing consultancy firm gives these rankings to indicate differences in quality of living and factors that are affecting expatriates in popular assignment destinations. Vienna, for the fourth consecutive year, emerged top of this list.
