Hyderabad: Nine Killed And Four Seriously Injured After Wall Collapsed In Chandrayangutta

On the night of the 13th of October, nine people including a family of five were killed. 

The nine people who were residents of the Ghousenagar area of Chandrayangutta died due to a wall collapse. Among the nine deceased, three were children.

This incident took place when granite stones of the boundary wall of a building collapsed on at least 10 houses in Mohammedia colony in Ghousenagar.

Since the past few days, Telangana is witnessing heavy rains, due to which many old buildings and walls are collapsing.

While nine people died, four people suffered serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.

The residents alerted the police who along with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) disaster management team, rushed to the spot and rescued the people and took out the bodies of the deceased.

According to the Telangana police at the spot, two houses were completely damaged in the incident.

Soon after the incident, Asaduddin Owaisi the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) rushed to the spot and took stock of the incident.

Mr. Owaisi said, ” #HyderabadRains I was at a spot inspection in Mohammedia Hills, Bandlaguda where a private boundary wall fell resulting in death of 9 people & injuring 2. On my (way) from there, I gave a lift to stranded bus passengers in Shamshabad, now I’m on my way to Talabkatta & Yesrab Nagar…”

In addition, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert of heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours to 48 hours in the State.

In regard to this, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, alerted the concerned officials, directing them to control the situation.
