K. Kavitha Appears Before Nampally Special Session Court

Kalvakuntla Kavitha, a member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and a former Member of Parliament (MP) of Nizamabad, appeared before the Nampally Special Sessions Court.

On the 27th of  February, Ms. Kavitha appeared in the Nampally court  for a case filed in 2010 Nizamabad by-elections.

The case was filed before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana into two seperate states.  Ms. Kavitha protested and marched to the Superintendent’s office in Nizamabad in 2010 violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC.)

Ms. Kavitha was booked under section 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint) and section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)

K. Kavitha appeared in the court and was asked to submit a bond of Rs 10,000 and reappear for the next hearing.

The next hearing is scheduled to be held on the 19th of March 2020.
