K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, extended Bathukamma wishes to the citizens of Telangana on the 28th of September.
K. Chandrasekhar Rao said, “The festival showcases the culture and tradition of the state which have to be celebrated with happiness.” He further added, “The floral festival Bathukamma is being made with various seasonal flowers showcasing people’s respect towards nature.”
Bathukamma marks the end of monsoon and the beginning of autumn and is primarily celebrated by women.
Apart from Chief Minister KCR, Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, also wished the citizens of Telangana on the occasion.
Ms. Soundararajan said, “I have great pleasure to convey my warm greetings to the people of Telangana, especially the women, on the auspicious occasion of Bathukamma festival. Bathukamma symbolises the cultural spirit of Telangana and is characterised by gathering of flowers and different unique floral arrangements.”
Telangana began the grand celebrations of Bathukamma festival on the 28th of September. The festival will continue till the 6th of October.
