After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) the Indian National Congress (INC,) Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) also condemned the attack on wrestlers, protested.
On the 28th of May, Sunday, a massive tussle broke out between the Delhi Police and Wrestlers who called for a march to the new parliament building, inaugurated on Sunday. The Delhi police in order to control the wrestlers from marching to the new parliament, allegedly used force, dragged them and detained them. A huge force of Delhi Police reached the protesting site at Jantar Mantar and cleared the site. Babita Phogat, Bajrang Punia and others were arrested by the police under a first information report (FIR) registered against them. Visuals of these drag and detain scenes went viral on social media and are widely shared by many political leaders, who called out on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government and criticized the Delhi Police, for their behavior.
Reacting to the same, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao also took a dig at the Delhi Police and tweeted, “Can any responsible leader from Govt of India tell us why it has to be this way? These are champions who brought us glory on the world stage! They deserve our support and respect.”

The wrestlers are protesting against Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the President of the Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI,) alleged of sexual harassment and assault. It is to be noted, Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is also a Member of Parliament of the BJP, and is under investigation. However, no action so far has been taken against Brij Bhushan and he still holds the position of the WFI President.
