Municipal Elections 2020 – KTR Conducts Review Meeting

K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 12th of January, reviewed the campaign for the Municipal elections in Andole, Telangana.

Mr. Rao, the Working President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) reviewed the progress of the TRS with regard to the upcoming Municipal elections in the Andole village of Medak district in Telangana.  

The review meeting was held at Telangana Bhavan, Hyderabad.  During the meeting, KTR saw the list of candidates and made some suggestions to Kranti Kiran, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Andole.

One such suggestion by KTR was to nominate candidates who have been accessible to the local public and actively participated in political activities.

KTR also strategised the elections’ campaigns and explained the need for publicity campaigns about the welfare schemes launched by the TRS Government.  He also praised the Andole MLA for judiciously using the Rs. 14 crores allocated to Andole for campaigns and assured him more funds would be assigned to the village for developing it.

Chaired by KTR, MLA Kranti Kiran, officials of the Municipal department of Andole and KCR’s Chief Secretary, Subash Reddy, attended the meeting.

The elections for 120 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations are scheduled to be held on the 22nd of January, 2020.  The major parties contesting the Municipal elections are the TRS, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

The results of the Municipal elections are scheduled to be announced on the 25th of January, 2020.
