Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party, on the 31st of October, met Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers and extended his support to them.
Mr. Kalyan also assured the TSRTC employees he would meet K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and request him to resolve the ongoing issue in Telangana.
Mr. Kalyan said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) should think about all the 50,000 workers before taking any decision regarding the matter. Approximately 50,000 TSRTC workers are on an indefinite strike since the 5th of October. The TSRTC strike entered its 26th day on the 31st of October as neither the State Government nor the TSRTC workers are willing to give up. The TSRTC employees put forward a list of their demands, including the merging of the TSRTC with the State Government.
However, KCR refused to accept the demands and decided he would privatise TSRTC if the workers do not end the strike and join their duties back.
Mr. Kalyan, during the meeting with the TSRTC workers, said, “I will seek the appointment of CM KCR and request him to bring solution to the RTC crisis. If I don’t get (an) appointment, I will think and decide what can be done. I don’t know why KCR is angry.”
Pawan Kalyan is also expected to speak to K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister and the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister of Telangana.
