Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the 20th of December, landed in Hyderabad for his winter sojourn.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government organised Mr. Kovind’s stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Bollaram.

During his winter sojourn, Mr. Kovind would visit Chennai, Puducherry and Thiruvananthapuram.  Mr. Kovind’s visit to these 3 places is scheduled from the 23rd of December to the 26th of December.

He is expected to return to Hyderabad from this visit on the 26th of December, following which, he would be in Hyderabad till the 28th of December.

Mr. Kovind would leave for Delhi on the 28th of December, around 3:15 P.M., from the Hakimpet Airport. 

S.K. Joshi, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, is responsible for all the arrangements for Ram Nath Kovind’s arrival.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) even tightened the security at Rashtrapati Bhavan in view of the President’s stay.

Known as the ‘winter sojourn’ or the ‘southern sojourn,’ Mr. Kovind’s Hyderabad visit is a customary one.  He travels to the southern region every winter and spends some time in Hyderabad.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana and other TRS officials welcomed Mr. Kovind on the afternoon of the 20th of December.
