The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) recently directed the Telangana Government to stop providing financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to families affected by the recent heavy rains in Hyderabad.
Earlier, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 would be provided to every house affected by the floods in Hyderabad due to heavy rains and floods.
The SEC Secretary M. Ashok Kumar, issued the order regarding the same.
According to sources, the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming Municipal election came into force.
The SEC released the election schedule for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
In regard to this, acceptance of applications and distribution of cash to the victims has been suspended.
According to the issued orders the flood relief amount of Rs. 10,000 could be resumed after the GHMC elections are over.
The GHMC elections are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December and the results for the same would be announced on the 4th of December.
