The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is going to nominate Solipeta Sujathe, wife of late Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Dubbaka.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 5th of October, remembered late Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy. He said, “He worked hard during the agitation and also for the TRS party. He dedicated himself to the development of his constituency Dubbaka, till he breathed his last.”
The TRS announced Solipeta Sujatha as the TRS candidate for the upcoming by elections.
Mr. Rao said, “In order to continue the progress of Dubbaka and to implement Government programmes as they were earlier, the TRS party feels that only a family member of Ramalinga Reddy will do justice.”
According to sources,the decision to nominate Solipeta Sujatha was taken after consulting all the District leaders of the party.
After Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Dubbaka passed away, the MLA position fell vacant. Mr. Ramalinga Reddy died of cardiac arrest on the 6th of August at a private hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana.
In regard to this, amid the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation, the Telangana State Election Commission released notice for the Dubbaka by polls.
According to the released notification, the election will be scheduled on the 3rd November, 2020.
While the last date for nominations is on 16th of October, the scrutiny of the nominations would be held on the 17th of October.
The last date for withdrawing the nominations is on the 19th October, 2020.
The results of the elections would be announced on the 10th of November.
