On the 12th of June, the Telangana Assembly Speaker, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, accepted the resignation of Eatala Rajender, the former Health Minister of Telangana.
Eatala Rajender, the former Health Minister of Telangana, submitted his resignation as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Huzurabad constituency. He gave his resignation letter today, the 12th of June, to the State Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
The decision to resign from the Party and Huzurabad MLA position was taken in the wake of the ongoing ruckus between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government and Eatala Rajender.
Since the 1st of May, when K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, sacked Eatala Rajender from the State Cabinet, there has been a war between the ruling TRS and Eatala Rajender. KCR removed Mr. Rajender as the State Health Minister over land grabbing allegations. In addition, KCR ordered an investigation against Eatala Rajender. However, the former Health Minister of Telangana denied the land grabbing allegations and claimed it to be a conspiracy against him.
In his defence, Eatala Rajender explained his side of the story. He said, “Back in 2016, for the establishment of a hatchery, I had taken a loan of Rs. 100 crores from the Canara Bank. The land about which allegations are being made to have been grabbed by me is still being used by the beneficiaries and is not under my properties.”
Meanwhile, recently, on the 4th of June, Eatala Rajender resigned from the primary membership of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
A day ahead of the resignation of Eatala Rajender, A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadre of Telangana unit said, “People are willing to join BJP to end the dictatorial and nepotistic politics in Telangana state. The fight is against the dictatorial, nepotistic politics and corrupt governance of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
Now that Eatala Rajender has submitted his resignation from the MLA post of Huzurabad and quit the TRS, he is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.) With this, Eatala Rajender is likely to join the BJP on the 14th of June in the presence of BJP leaders and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
However, an official announcement regarding the date is awaited.
