The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government started distributing 1.20 crore national flags to the citizens of the State.  The distribution started on the 11th of August, Thursday, to mark the 75th Independence Day celebration on the 15th of August, Monday.

The TRS workers and officials under the leadership of respective Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) conducted door to door campaigns to distribute the flags, under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

In the Hyderabad region, Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, was also seen distributing the flags to the people of Hyderabad.  The initiative of the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government not only marked the major celebration of the 75th Independence Day but also provided employment to weavers and handloom workers in the State.   The Minister said, “The Vajrotsava celebrations are being celebrated in a grand manner throughout the state and today it is a matter of happiness to start the Freedom Park at Ranganayak Sagar, a suburb of Siddipet town.  The state government is distributing 1.2 crore flags, door-to-door by giving employment to handloom workers.”

In addition, the TRS Finance Minister also took a dig at the Central Government, for unable to provide enough flags to the Indian citizens.  Mr. T. Harish Rao said, “In many places in the country, the Centre is unable to supply the national flags and the central minister Kishan Reddy is in a situation where he cannot give them, it is shameful and insulting to say that people have to stick paper flag.”

Notably, handloom workers were given orders to manufacture 1.20 crore Indian flags, which would later be distributed to the citizens of Telangana by the handloom workers only.
