The newly appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, A. Revanth Reddy would take over the charge of the office on the 7th of July. 

Recently, the Indian National Congress (INC) unit in Telangana, appointed A. Revanth Reddy as the State President of Telangana INC. He would take charge of the office at 12 noon on the 7th of July at Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, Telangana. In addition, it is noted, after taking charge of the office, Mr. Revanth Reddy is likely to conduct a padyatra from Alampur to Adilabad on the same day.

Before taking charge, Mr. Revanth Reddy would hold a huge rally in Hyderabad from his Jubilee Hills residence to Gandhi Bhavan. Mr. Revanth Reddy would also offer special prayers to Jubilee Hills Peddamma Talli temple before proceeding to Gandhi Bhavan at 10:00 A.M.

Mr. Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude to the INC for selecting him as the Party President in Telangana and said he would stand by party workers. He said there would be no scope for individual decisions as the State Congress Party Chief and decisions would be taken by the party after due considerations with leaders and activists. The selection of the new President of the INC came at a time when there would be a re election for the Huzurabad Assembly seat

After Eatala Rajender, a senior leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and resigned as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Huzurabad Assembly, the Assembly seat fell vacant. With this, the Indian National Congress, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are eying to win the Assembly seat after the by poll.

Meanwhile, after the appointment of the new Indian National Congress (INC) President of Telangana, the Telangana unit of the INC witnessed a turmoil within the party members, especially senior leaders. The INC leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy expressed disappointment over A. Revanth Reddy’s appointment as the Party President and vowed not to enter the Party headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, in Telangana. Besides this, several INC leaders have resigned from the INC as they were upset over the decision and wanted to protest. A. Revanth Reddy was appointed as the TPCC President on the 26th of June.
