Kalvakuntla Kavitha, a member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and President of the Telangana Jagruthi is set to take oath as the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of Nizamabad.
Recently, the Nizamabad Legislative constituency conducted by polls and TRS’s candidate K. Kavitha won the by election with 728 votes.
According to the sources, the TRS got 728 votes, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 56 votes, the Indian National Congress (INC) 29 votes and the remaining were secured by individual candidates. There were a total of 824 voters.
The polling for the by election to the Nizamabad Local Body Constituency was concluded peacefully on the 10th of October and the results were announced on the 12th of October.
The oath ceremony of Ms. Kavitha would take place at 12:45 P.M., at Durbar Hall of the Telangana Legislative Council.
Several party leaders, including ministers would attend the oath taking ceremony.
After the results were declared, the oath taking ceremony was delayed as K. Kavitha was under home quarantine.
After she came in contact with Jagityal MLA M. Sanjay Kumar who was tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, Ms. Kavitha went into isolation.
Ms. Kavitha would be sworn in as the 14th MLC of the Nizamabad constituency.
