TRS Releases Party Manifesto For GHMC Elections In Telangana

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) released the Party manifesto For the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

The TRS President and the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on the 23rd of November, released the Party Manifesto.

In the Manifesto, the TRS promised free water to the households which consumed not more than 20,000 litres a month and free power supply to salons, dhobi ghats and laundries across Telangana.

For the cinema industry, the TRS Government promised to reimburse the state Goods Service Tax (GST) for small budget films (upto Rs. 10 crores) and to allow an increase in the number of shows in theatres.

In addition, the TRS promised to waive off motor vehicle tax of Rs. 267 crores payable by the 3, 37,611 vehicle owners who suffered during the lockdown from March to September.

During the release event of the manifesto, the Telangana Chief Minister said, the Government chalked out a plan of Rs. 12,000 crores to prevent the city from floods and also promised to turn Hyderabad as a zero-carbon city by controlling environmental pollution.

He promised to construct a regional ring road (RRR), footpaths, skywalks and cycle tracks to ease traffic.

In addition, the TRS also promised to build three more Telangana Institute of Medical Science TIMS in and around Hyderabad and make diagnostic facilities available at Basti Dawakanas for underprivileged people.

Lastly, KCR also asserted to extend the metro services to Hyderabad international airport from Rayadurgam and from BHEL to Mehdipatnam in the phase-II of metro rail project.

While the TRS released the Party manifesto today, the 23rd of November, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (INC) are yet to release their manifestos for the GHMC elections.

The GHMC elections are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December and the results would be declared on the 4th of December.
