Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, on the 16th of October, requested Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, to intervene in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike issue.

The BJP leaders urged Ms. Soundararajan to protect the TSRTC’s assets from private agencies, which would soon be a part of the TSRTC, as per the orders of K. Chandrashekar Rao.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, recently announced the involvement of private agencies in running the buses in Telangana.

Apart from this, the State Government is also planning to auction all the TSRTC assets, worth crores.

K. Laxman, the President of the BJP in Telangana, accompanied by other senior leaders of the BJP, submitted a memorandum to Tamilisai Soundararajan regarding the State Government’s decision.

Mr. Laxman said KCR is misusing his power as the Chief Minister of Telangana and trying to destabilise the transport corporation in the State.  The BJP was also against the State Government for firing 1,200 TSRTC employees and suspending 48,800 others.

The BJP also alleged KCR of exploiting his power to involve his family and relatives in the  State transport sector and helping them expand their transport business.

Ms. Soundararajan did not share her views regarding the memorandum submitted by the BJP delegation.

Stay tuned for further updates.
