After 54 days of the TSRTC strike, on the 29th of November, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees rejoin duty.  After several attempts of TSRTC leaders and employees, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government responded to their request and took them back as RTC employee.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 28th of November, conducted a Cabinet meeting and allowed the TSRTC employees to rejoin duty.

During the Cabinet meeting, KCR asked the employees to rejoin duty on the morning of the 29th of November, without imposing any conditions on them.

The RTC workers were happy to be back and said it would take two weeks for them to ensure good run of the buses, as the batteries in most of the vehicles need to be recharged.

After the Cabinet meeting, KCR conducted a press conference  on the evening of the 28th  November and announced to release an amount of Rs. 100 crores for RTC as financial assistance.

The State Government also decided to cancel the decision of privatisation of 5,100 bus routes and hiked ticket charges by Rs. 20 paise per km which would be implemented from the 1st of December.

In addition, the TRS Government decided to constitute employee welfare committees  at every bus depot. The committees would be headed by two TRS ministers and would discuss problems of the TSRTC employees.

During the press meet, KCR said he would meet 5 employees from each bus depot in two days and discuss his proposals to save the TSRTC with them.

After meeting withb  TSRTC employees and reviewing the  organization’s condition, the State Government is also likely to submit a report to the Central Government seeking help to stabilise the TSRTC.

Meanwhile, concerned about the TSRTC employees who died during the 54 day strike, the State Government announced to provide either a TSRTC or a State Government job to the family members of the deceased.
