The present President of United States of America, Barack Obama, has said that First Lady Michelle Obama, referred to as FLOTUS will never run for President. From the time general election campaigning began, many have requested Michelle Obama to contest for the presidency. When that did not take shape, a twitter hashtag, ‘#Michelle2020’. Many have requested for her to run for the Presidential elections of 2020. However, people close to her have time and again reminded the citizens of Michelle Obama’s disinterest in running for the 2020 oval office.

In a recent interview, Rolling Stone’s Jann Wenner quizzed the POTUS, Barack Obama about the possibility of his wife, Michelle Obama entering politics. To this, President Obama replied, “Michelle will never run for office. She is as talented a person as I know. You can see the incredible resonance she has with the American people. But I joke that she’s too sensible to want to be in politics.” The appeal for her to run for the presidency intensified after Donald Trump was elected as President on November 8,2016.

In a radio show ‘Sway in the Morning’ in October, Obama in regard to the same topic, had said: “Michelle does not have the patience or the inclination to actually be a candidate herself. That’s one thing y’all can take to the bank.” Adding to this in a recent event at The White House, Michelle Obama laughed when a member of the audience shouted, ‘Run for President’. Her response was “Be quiet back there.”

Well here’s to hoping that the FLOTUS changes her decision four years from now and runs for President, fulfilling the dreams and wishes of many.
